FOCUS GROUP, in a consortium with a Brazilian architecture studio, won the international competition to prepare the Masterplan and all projects for the Deodoro Sports Complex for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the second Olympic center in terms of number of sports and public influx after the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Park.

The consortium was responsible for defining the public spaces and equipment to be built for the Olympic Games in 2016, as well as defining the legacy situation to be developed after the games.

Surrounded by green spaces, this region was the stage for eleven Olympic sports - Equestrian (Jumping, Dressage and CCE), Cycling (BMX and Mountain Bike), Modern Pentathlon, Shooting, Canoeing Slalom, Field Hockey, Rugby and Basketball - and four Paralympic modalities - Shooting, Equestrian (Dressage) and Wheelchair Fencing and 7-a-side Football.
