Sustainability was one of the main guiding principles in choosing plants and irrigation equipment, and in water management and the reconstitution of ecosystems capable of re-introducing communities of fauna and flora adapted to the local soil and climatic conditions, in addition to other micro-climatic aspects specific to the Monchique Mountains.
